Without structural reform, most of these policies are little more than pipe dreams. But once we win reform, here’s where I stand on the fights ahead.

WHAT STRUCTURAL

REFORM UNLOCKS

CLIMATE JUSTICE & CLEAN ENERGY

We cannot afford to wait to address climate change. I support major public investment in clean energy—wind, solar, and grid modernization—alongside expanded nuclear investments and an end to fossil fuel subsidies.

Protecting our climate is about more than our long-term future: climate change is already having catastrophic effects, and historically disadvantaged communities are bearing those harms first and worst.

EXPANDED CHILD TAX CREDITS & PAID FAMILY LEAVE

I support restoring and expanding the Child Tax Credit that cut child poverty nearly in half and establishing federally guaranteed paid family and medical leave. No parent should have to choose between a paycheck and caring for a newborn or a sick loved one.

We are the richest country in the world—our family policies shouldn’t be so much worse than those of our peers.

PROTECTING MEDICARE, SOCIAL SECURITY & THE SAFETY NET WE EARNED

These programs are not handouts—they are promises we’ve already paid into. I will oppose any cuts to Social Security and Medicare and fight instead to strengthen them, including lifting the payroll tax cap so billionaires pay their fair share.

Expanding programs like SNAP, rental assistance, and disability benefits are essential to keeping people secure.

LGBTQ+ RIGHTS & EQUALITY

Equality under the law cannot depend on your zip code. I support passing the Equality Act, ending legal loopholes for discrimination, and strengthening federal protections for LGBTQ+ youth in schools and the workplace.

I will fight efforts to roll back marriage equality or deny basic rights to LGBTQ+ Americans.

RESTORING & STRENGTHENING RIGHTS & PROTECTIONS FOR DISABLED AMERICANS

Disabled Americans have been ignored and mistreated for too long. We must undo the harms unleashed by the current administration as it slashed benefits, imposed bureaucratic hurdles, and stigmatized people simply trying to survive.

I support expanding SSI and SSDI, ending punitive work requirements, fully funding IDEA in our schools, and strengthening accessibility standards in housing, transit, and tech.

STUDENT DEBT RELIEF & STRONG PUBLIC SCHOOLS

Education should be a ladder, not a lifetime of debt. I support broad student debt cancellation, stronger income-driven repayment programs, and free community college.

At the same time, we must invest in K-12 public schools—raising teacher pay, fully funding IDEA, making Massachusetts’ universal free school meals program a national standard, and ensuring every child has access to safe buildings and modern curricula.

GUN SAFETY & ENDING GUN VIOLENCE

Gun violence is now the leading cause of death for American children. Background checks and an assault weapons ban have overwhelming public support, but Republicans in Congress block them because they are bought and paid for by the gun lobby.

I will fight to pass these and other commonsense reforms, alongside funding for community violence intervention and mental health supports.

UNIVERSAL HEALTH CARE

Health care is a human right. Addressing health care costs is also one of the most effective ways to rein in rising budgets at every level of government, from Washington to our states, cities, and towns.

I support a universal system—whether through Medicare for All or a strong public option that forces real competition—so no family has to choose between food or a doctor’s visit, or fears bankruptcy as the result of a diagnosis. Prescription drug price caps and expansion of community health clinics are critical steps along the way.

REPRODUCTIVE FREEDOM & ABORTION ACCESS

The right to bodily autonomy is non-negotiable. We need to move forward, not backward: Congress must guarantee abortion access in every state, expand funding for clinics in underserved areas, and protect medication abortion – long proven to be safe – from political interference.

We must also remove barriers like mandatory waiting periods or insurance restrictions that punish people for exercising their rights.

HOUSING AFFORDABILITY & STABILITY

Everyone deserves a safe and affordable place to live. The federal government should drive progress by incentivizing state and local programs that expand affordable housing, reduce exclusionary zoning, and invest in public housing.

We must also expand the National Housing Trust Fund. And we should enact the Harris–Walz proposal to provide $25,000 to first-time homebuyers.

STRONG UNIONS & LIVING WAGES

Unions built the American middle class. I support the PRO Act to protect workers’ rights to organize and bargain collectively, and I back raising the federal minimum wage to a true living wage. Every worker deserves safe conditions, fair pay, and a real voice on the job.

We also need to rebuild the National Labor Relations Board so it can once again enforce workers’ rights after years of sabotage by Republican administrations.

HEALTH CARE, SAFETY & DIGNITY FOR TRANS PEOPLE

Medical associations with tens of thousands of members have determined that gender-affirming care is safe, effective, and is the established Standard of Care—meanwhile, sham extremist groups and others who engage in disinformation try to create the appearance of controversy.

We must protect access to medical care, ensure protections against workplace and housing discrimination, and strengthen hate-crime enforcement. We must also push back against the flood of state-level attacks targeting trans youth and their families.

PUBLIC SAFETY REFORM & EQUAL TREATMENT UNDER THE LAW

Our justice system must keep people safe without destroying lives. I support investing in community-based violence prevention, reforming qualified immunity, and expanding alternatives to incarceration for nonviolent offenses.

We must end racial profiling and eliminate sentencing disparities that punish people differently based on race or income.

PATHWAYS TO CITIZENSHIP & PROTECTIONS FOR IMMIGRANTS

America is stronger when we welcome people who come here to build a better life. The Trump administration claims it is cracking down on “illegal” immigration, but in reality, it is working to eliminate legal pathways to immigration altogether.

I support a pathway to citizenship for Dreamers—young people who grew up here and are contributing to this country in many ways, including as teachers, nurses, and serving in our military—and for long-term undocumented residents who have not committed crimes.

Humane asylum processes and stronger workplace protections will keep families together while preventing exploitation. Immigration reform must reflect dignity and fairness, not cruelty or fearmongering.
